That's right, a curious fact: there is a DTG brand called DTG, and it's even one of the pioneers in the market. The DTG exhibition was very varied, and that caught a lot of attention, especially due to the high level of quality displayed by all the machines. Very even compared to what was seen in previous years, thanks to this competitiveness, we must understand that we have a more than promising future with DTG. There was even an exhibition of the so-called "homemade" printers, but I clarify that this video will focus only on original DTG printers, not adapted ones. That doesn't mean they're likely to surprise us in the future; nothing can be taken for granted in this market given the way it's evolving. "Direct to Garment Printing," popularly known by its acronym DTG, began in the United States in 1996 with the production of the first digital printer known as "Revolution." The creation was the work of Matthew Rhome in conjunction with Brother. It's worth noting that at this event, most of the printers on offer had similar features and, therefore, very similar prices. We're talking averages between $18,000 and $20,000. This once again underscores the clear competition, and the growing trend toward improved ink consumption and durability, more affordable prices for entrepreneurs, and, above all, a very good range of high-quality models. And that's precisely what's first noticed with DTG: the cost, the investment required initially for a printer, but we must take into account that ten years ago it cost almost five or six times more than the current price. Another important detail is the investment in inks, and how this is being resolved in various ways. Hybrid printing on automatic octopuses, for large production runs, is one of them. But what caught my attention most when I first discovered DTG was calculating what the future held for this type of printing. Because when an innovative and disruptive system comes to market, a variety of opinions arise, which ultimately remain conjecture. But we know that only time and the market will ultimately tell what will happen to them. In an era where diverse textile printing options are emerging, I find it very interesting to learn everything about them. I believe that part of the future of entrepreneurship, whether it's a brand of printed polo shirts or a screen printing service, is based on customization, and that's what DTG offers. DTF has also entered the popular "polofoto" business, offering endless possibilities for customization, cost, and practicality in application. Or vinyl, which not only covers textiles but also a vast universe of applications across all industries. And why not mention that sublimation, which at one time was said to replace screen printing, has a well-earned field in sports. Nowadays, and in a future that doesn't seem so distant, an entrepreneur, illustrator, or graphic artist can use these systems to kick-start their project and produce a first collection, or at least a small number of garments for testing or sampling for potential clients. Perhaps this could be precisely their differentiation, given the design limitations of textile vinyl, the rigid feel of DTF, the lack of sublimation possibilities compared to cotton, and, of course, the low profitability of screen printing compared to small-volume productions. Because yes, my dear screen printing enthusiasts, among whom I include myself, we must be clear and honest when stating that textile printing is much more profitable when we talk about large or medium quantities. In this context, DTG is a type of printing that's already a reality, and I imagine it will gradually adapt to the needs of all types of audiences. I hope this video has been helpful, and if you have any additional comments, I'd be happy to read them and respond in the comments. Until next time!
