This is a starter replacement on a 1993 Lexus LS400, along with a couple other repairs that I'd highly recommend taking care of while you have the top half of the engine off. Note: routing the EGR pipe as I had it the first time is actually the correct way, at least as far as I can tell. Once I got it all back together, the gap was too great between the mating surface on the back of the plenum and the EGR pipe. I would have to imagine that being behind the coolant bypass and wiring harness are causing too much of a gap.
