It was written by group member Winfred Lovett, the bass singer and songwriter of the group. The song was recorded for the album 'The Manhattans' and released in 1976 by Columbia Records. It was released as a single in March of the same year. SOUND WAS ACHIEVED BY :- Playing my Burns Apache/ Dream guitar, into a Big Sky reverb /echo effects unit. I then passed the sound into my Scarlett Solo 2i2 2nd Gen USB Audio Interface and from the Interface, through to my laptop and into my Guitar Rig app program, which is installed on my laptop and works inside my 'Reaper ' Mixing Software programme which again is installed on my laptop where I can then record my guitar sound whilst playing to the backing track of :- "Kiss and Say Goodbye" Using my Big Sky reverb /echo effects unit Reaper & Guitar Rig, I produce the desired sound required and then make the sound recording and save the finished soundtrack to my computer as a MP3 file. I then record myself playing to the recorded audio mp3 soundtrack using two Apple iPad air 2 iPads and then transfer the video footage onto the timeline in CyberLink PowerDirector19, on my ' DESKTOP ' computer and replace the camera soundtrack with the Mp3 soundtrack from Reaper and Guitar Rig, I then edit the video footage accordingly to produce the finished video of :- "Kiss and Say Goodbye" .....................................................................
