Luckily for me, it lined up perfectly with my schedule, so in that very moment, I decided to go, and my oh my, what an amazing celebration mixing the energy from the Rio Carnival with Filipino Madness! The festival takes place in Bacolod, also known as the city of smiles. Back in the 80s when the local sugar cane production were at a low and a ship from Manila carrying a lot of locals sank the city decided to host a masquarade combining the words Mass (gathering) +Cara/Kara (face) that makes us the pun MassKara to cheer the locals up. The party was a success and here we are celebrating the 46th celebration!
