Starlink Standby Mode - Life at 500 Kbps: What Can You Do with Unlimited Data for $5/mo?

Last week Starlink switched their free Pause mode to Standby Mode, which is $5/mo but includes unlimited data at 500 Kbps. We spent a few days living on Starlink Standby mode to see just how usable it might be. And surprisingly, there's a lot you can do online. Which means, you might just be able to get by for a day or two while traveling in weak cellular signal areas using Starlink Standby without needing to switch to a higher priced plan. So just what is possible? We show what typical tasks like Zoom video conferencing, streaming YouTube & AppleTV, Facebook, general web surfing, navigating & maps, Wi-Fi calling, gaming and more look like over a slower connection.
