An homage to my 100 favorite movies of all time

How I ranked them: • All are theatrically released movies I have seen multiple times (at least 3 times) and would gladly watch many times more • These are not what I would regard as the Best Movies Ever. The rankings are based on how entertained I was, regardless of artistic credentials, critical reviews, cultural significance, awards won, general popularity, or intellectual snobbery. • These do not include movies I really liked but have no desire to watch repeatedly (for example: The Departed, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler’s List) • These do not include movies that I truly appreciate for their groundbreaking nature (Citizen Kane, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Godfather, Metropolis) if I don’t go out of my way to watch them repeatedly • There are genres that I gravitate towards (comedies, action, musicals, sci fi) that are over-represented in the list and genres I dislike (mobsters, horror, documentaries) that are virtually ignored in the list • The whole list is a spectrum. There is no logical reason that number X was placed after number X+1 or even number X+10. But in general, I am simply more enthusiastic about the movies as the number gets closer to #1 • At least a few of your favorite movies are not on this list. It doesn’t necessarily mean I don’t like them, they just don’t make my very personal Top 100. Maybe consider that your taste in entertainment is different from mine and that’s okay. Chill. 100.
