Opened on November 9, 1986, in the administrative region of Ceilândia, and with architectural design by Oscar Niemeyer, the venue soon became a stage for performances by major names in Northeastern culture, such as "repentante" and "embolada" singers, Northeastern cuisine exhibitions, music workshops, digital inclusion projects, and much more. For over 35 years, Casa do Cantador has been a cultural center in the city, hosting artists from Ceilândia's cultural scene and major cultural events, including national and regional festivals of repentista singers, gatherings of forró singers from the Federal District, and Ceilândia's art and culture fairs.
