This festive day begins with torrential rain that quickly transforms several streets into flooded areas. Despite these difficult conditions, many worshippers head to the mosques to participate in the Eid prayer. At the mosque, the vehicles of worshippers fill the surrounding area, while the inclement weather forces organizers to relocate the prayer. Originally planned to take place outdoors, the celebration was ultimately held inside the mosque and under the awnings of neighboring shops to protect worshippers from the rain. Once the downpours subsided, the atmosphere changed completely. The area gradually returned to calm as people rejoined their families to continue the festivities. The walk then led us to the Anador neighborhood, where the preparations and traditional sacrifices for Tabaski were beginning. This walk offered the opportunity to observe: 🐑 sheep being prepared for the meal, 🔥 the cleaning and grilling of the hides and heads, 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 families gathered around this religious festival, 🌧️ the muddy roads and the traces left by the heavy rains. The route then continued along the Zoo Road, before reaching Dokui and then the area around the Abobo Town Hall. Usually bustling, several roads and bus stations are experiencing reduced activity due to the festivities. The day begins with heavy rainfall that floods several streets, making travel difficult for many residents heading to the mosques for the traditional Eid prayer. Around the mosque, numerous vehicles belonging to worshipers can be seen. Because of the weather, the prayer, which was initially planned outdoors, is finally held inside the mosque and under the nearby shop shelters. After the rain finally stops, the atmosphere changes completely as the crowds gradually leave and the neighborhood becomes much quieter. The walk continues through Anador, where families have already begun the traditional Tabaski preparations.
