The Cradock Four Inquest returns to Gqeberha High Court | 24 March 2026
The inquest looking into the deaths of the Cradock resumes in the Gqeberha High Court in the Eastern Cape. These political activities, Fort Calata, Matthew Goniwe, Sicelo Mhlauli and Sparrow Mkonto known as the Cradock Four were killed were abducted and murdered by the apartheid security forces while leaving Gqeberha in 1985. This will be the third sitting of the inquest since it started. It is expected to hear evidence of former Vlakplaas Commander, Eugene de Kock, former Minister of Black Education, Barend du Plessis amongst other witnesses.
