Follow the technique outlined later in this lesson to learn your key signatures and know them like the back of your hand. You will also learn how to memorize your order of sharps and order of flats. These will help you master what sharps and flats exist within a key. Learning the circle of fifths is helpful as a music student. You will be able to use it when you play music, when you improvise, and when you play in a group with other musicians. Remember that there are major keys (sound happy), and minor keys (sound sad).
