Launch: International Network for Public Restaurants

On 9 June 2026, the International Network for Public Restaurants was launched with a webinar. Public restaurants are universal public infrastructure for food, comparable to public healthcare, public education and public transport. This network will explore how public restaurants can become a serious public policy option for countries around the world - and one that meaningfully advances the right to food. It is open to everyone - connecting governments and citizens to build relationships, share learning and take action. 0:00 Introduction 5:10 Rae Gomes, Community Kitchen 9:57 Floris Visser, Public Food 13:45 Sofía Suarez, UN Special Rapporteur for the Right to Food 20:00 Panel: Current Examples of Public Restaurants 54:00 Dr Stefanos Fotiou, Food Diplomacy Network 01:00:00 Jennifer Constantine, Institute of Development Studies 01:08:00 Close
