Exploring a Musician's ABANDONED Home Forgotten in the Woods l The Owners Passed Away (FHO EP.129)

Considered to be a veteran of the steel pan drum, the man who once lived here took great pride in the instrument and dedicated 50 years of his life to teaching and playing it. Originally from Trinidad, he grew up in a musical family. At one point he was the band leader of one of Trinidad’s leading steel orchestras. In 1955 he came to Canada with a different steel band to perform at the annual Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. 2 years later, he moved here permanently. While music was his passion, he had a growing family and decided to go to school for economics after performing solo for several years prior. With his degree, he went on to teach business and economics classes in the local area. Still wanting to share his passion for the steal pan drum with the world, he brought it into Canadian schools, even creating an extra-curricular pan program at the school he taught at. Eventually, he brought the pan to other schools in the Greater Toronto Area. In 2015 his health declined, and based on his obituary, he may have had alzheimers. He was placed in a nursing home where he passed away from a stroke in 2019. His wife of 60 years passed away a few years later in 2021. They had a wonderful life together and travelled the world in their retirement. The home seems to have been abandoned in 2016, many of the family's items have been left behind and rot away to this day. FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA!!!
