#29 PASO DE JAMA, CHILE ARGENTINA

Once again, we crossed the Andes Mountains. This time through the Jama Border Crossing. We left Coquimbo, Chile, heading for the Jama Border Crossing. It took us two days to get there. Our first stop was in Chañaral, Chile, and then from Chañaral to the border. The weather was very foggy in the morning, but cleared up in the afternoon, allowing us to reach the border. We arrived late at the pass and were supposed to sleep in the cells at Jama. There was no choice but to sleep there. We weren't allowed to camp, and we wouldn't be able to return to San Pedro de Atacama at night, which was very cold. At night, the temperature dropped to -10 degrees Celsius... And so we arrived in Argentina.
