The 5481m “Dragondola” at Naeba Ski Resort near Yuzawa, Niigata prefecture is the longest gondola rope-way in Japan and takes about 20 minutes between two stations. While gondolas usually go up and down the mountain; “Dragondola” ascends and descends down the side of a mountain to cross a small river, before ascending again. This is a very popular way to see the Fall Colors and changing leaves in Japan. In Autumn, you can continue from the top of Dragondola and take the Panorama High Speed Quad Chairlift to reach an altitude of 1,474m with great views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
