Harley Riders Aren’t Leaving… They’re Leaving Brand Loyalty

Motorcycle riders are changing, and the old days of blind brand loyalty may be coming to an end. Harley-Davidson, Indian Motorcycle, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Royal Enfield, Triumph, BMW, Ducati, and every other motorcycle brand now has to answer one simple question: are they still earning the rider’s money? In this video, I talk about why riders are not necessarily leaving Harley because they hate Harley, and they are not looking at Indian, Honda, Kawasaki, Royal Enfield, or other brands because they hate tradition. Instead, riders are becoming more focused on value, price, reliability, dealer experience, parts support, ownership cost, and whether the motorcycle actually fits their life. Harley-Davidson still has one of the strongest motorcycle brands in the world, but the badge alone is not enough anymore. Indian Motorcycle has made smart moves, but even Indian has to prove it can offer more than heritage. Younger riders, Gen X riders, longtime Harley riders, cruiser riders, sport bike riders, adventure riders, and touring riders are all asking the same thing: what am I getting for my money? This video was shaped by real viewer comments from the MotoWeasel community. We talk about Harley-Davidson pricing, Indian Motorcycle competition, dealer fees, out-the-door pricing, useful technology like Honda DCT and E-Clutch, the Indian FTR, Buell, Royal Enfield affordability, Kawasaki value, and why motorcycle loyalty today has to be earned. The old loyalty was inherited. The new loyalty has to be earned. Are riders really leaving Harley, Indian, and old-school motorcycle brand loyalty behind? Or are they just done giving automatic loyalty to any motorcycle company? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let me know what a motorcycle brand would have to do today to earn your money.
