How do we get on a tricky ex Racehorse?!!

Rusper's Lad is a 4 year old ex Racehorse who ran 12 times and retired from Racing in December 2020. Rusper was bought back by his Breeder when he retired and was sent to us to start his retraining. His Trainer contacted us to let us know that he could be quite tricky to get on and had a habit of putting his head down and running backwards when they were legging the riders up on him. We were told that he could be quite an anxious horse as well and that hopefully a break away would do him the world of good and enable him to be retrained for a new career. He settled in quite well but we decided to put him on a supplement to treat ulcers and he was started on the GastroPLUS from The Equine Edge. We also put him on their Calmer powder to give him every chance to relax and mentally be able to cope with the change of lifestyle and retraining. As you will see in the video the transformation over just a few weeks is incredible. Rusper has done really well and is starting to look amazing! His body and mind have started to switch off and the diet of Cushcare Condition from Dodson & Horrell and the gut supplement has really helped. He is also enjoying daily turnout.
