STATIC STABILIZATION OF SHOULDER JOINT
Detailed discussion on the stablization of shoulder joint or glenohumeral joint. The stabilization can either be static or dynamic stablization. Static stablization is stabilization at rest. The glenohumeral joint is an incongurent joinr because of pecularities of articular surfaces and hence there is a need of some mechanicsm to stablize the glenohumeral joint. When arm is at side during static phase the gravitional force exerts a downward force that also creates an unbalnced force which should be balanced. This balance is done by: 1. Rotator interval capsule 2. Negative intra-articular pressure of capsule 3. By the inclination of glenoid fossa If arm is loaded the supraspinatus comes to assist the action.
