PAMERAN DI PULAU EMAS 😱😱- PAMERAN ZIARAH SUVARNADVIPA
SUVARNADVIPA PILGRIMAGE - There, where the Batanghari River flows quietly, carrying thousands of years of secrets, time seems to fold back on itself. The Muarajambi Temple Complex is more than just a silent arrangement of red bricks. It is the heartbeat of civilization still beating on the land of Sumatra. The "Suvarnadvipa Pilgrimage" exhibition presents itself not merely as an artistic showcase, but as a spiritual journey, a call to recall the memories scattered on the Golden Island. Muarajambi does not exist in a vacuum. It lives and breathes through the lungs of the people of the eight villages that embrace it. From Lake Lamo to its neighboring villages, life here is a beautiful weave of past and present. The local people do not view the temple as an inanimate object, distant from them. For them, caring for the temple is caring for Malay civilization itself. This harmony is evident in their livelihoods, which are in harmony with nature, preserving the site not merely out of legal obligation, but out of a sense of belonging that flows in their blood. They are the keepers of the undying flame of history. Beneath the lush secondary forest, these red brick structures rise with timeless elegance. The Tinggi Temple, Gumpung Temple, Koto Mahligai Temple, and Kedaton Temple are not merely architectural monuments. They are giant mandalas of art, constructed yet grounded. The splendor here doesn't scream, but rather whispers in the ancient silence that envelops every corner of the site. There is a magical power in the silence of Muarajambi that invites us to bow inward. Among the temple's quiet corridors, pilgrims discover not only traces of history but also an oasis of spirituality. This is a place where the hustle and bustle of the world subsides, allowing the soul to dialogue with the Creator in pure reverence. The beauty of the temple and the silence of nature blend, creating a sacred space for anyone seeking inner peace. There is a playful magic amidst the solemnity of this site. As you walk along the path among the menapo (temple ruins), don't be surprised if the silence is suddenly broken by a soft thud: a falling durian. In this temple area, ancient durian trees stand tall like giant sentinels. The sweet, tangy aroma of fallen fruit wafts out, mingling with the scent of wet earth and ancient moss. It's a symbol of Suvarnadvipa's natural abundance, and a reminder that this land is blessed, where great history and nature's generosity coexist romantically. The "Suvarnadvipa Pilgrimage" was born from a long, silent process. The artists came not as tourists, but as pilgrims. Through residencies, they immerse themselves, sleeping on the same ground as their ancestors, and eating from the same plates as the locals. This is where intense inner dialogue takes place. They interact at Paduka Market, absorbing the lively conversations of vendors, sampling ancient cuisine, and hearing folk tales untold in history books. They unearth lost treasures, both tangible (cultural heritage objects) and intangible (spirits, mantras, and feelings). This process is an attempt to reassemble a cultural puzzle buried by time, attempting to "reread" what the ancestors of Muarajambi wanted to convey. All of this long contemplation and in-depth residency finally culminated in a historic moment at the Muarajambi National Cultural Heritage Area (KCBN) Museum. This inaugural art exhibition was held in the heart of the site as a supreme expression of appreciation. The museum space transformed into a meeting point between the past and present interpretations. This exhibition is a tribute to three objects: the artists who have diligently woven the threads of history through imagination, the Suvarnadvipa site as an eternal canvas whose meaning is never exhausted, and of course, the Muara Jambi community as gracious hosts and the true owners of this heritage. The visual and performance works presented here possess a powerful soul. Paintings and installations seem to act as a magical bridge connecting visitors with the spirit of Suvarnadvipa, while the performing arts are presented as rituals to balance nature, accompanied by music that reflects the echoes of the 7th century. Through "Ziarah Suvarnadvipa," we are not invited to view the past as something obsolete. We are invited to reflect. This exhibition is a gentle invitation to rediscover who we are, celebrate the majesty of Ancient Malay civilization, and pledge to continue preserving it. In Muarajambi, stones may be silent, but in the hands of artists and the people who love them, they sing. Follow Us! / billmohdor / billmohdorstudio
