Tim Taylor Ocean Paddling World Record 214kms in 24hrs set in 2015
In April 2015 Kiwi Tim Taylor set a new World Record for the greatest distance by canoe on the ocean in 24 hours. The record was set off the Bay of Plenty starting at the Mount, New Zealand, between 16 and 17 April 2015. Note - Guinness World Records after review recognised Tim Taylor for "The greatest distance by canoe (kayak) on the ocean in 24 hours by a male is 209 km (130 miles; 122.7 nautical miles)"
