Grand Buffet at B. Dolan's "Church of Love & Ruin" - 7/27/2012 - Full Set

Forever in my Top 5 shows, the Portland Maine stop on the "Church of Love & Ruin" tour is where it all came together in ways I could've never imagined. The lineup for this show was: B. Dolan Grand Buffet Vockah Redu & the Cru What Cheer? Brigade Wheelchair Sports Camp Ms. Nicholle Pride Madge of Honor hosted by Katya Zamolodchikova, who several years later would take the globe by storm on RuPaul's Drag Race. Also, a crew of fire performers who we never got the names of appeared right before the show. After the encore, the What Cheer? Brigade led the entire crowd into the Portland street at midnight, performing a mini-set w/ people throwing fire and dancing for about 20 minutes. Benjamin Franklin Music The show was advertised as follows: "The ground-breaking Church of Love and Ruin returns to SPACE with its spectacular, subversive mash up of hip hop, bounce, satire, politics, drag, queer culture, marching bands and dance party craziness. Providence rapper B.Dolan has assembled an even larger lineup for this second round, including Pittsburgh's indie-rap legends Grand Buffet, Providence marching band (and SPACE favorites) What Cheer? Brigade and the jaw-dropping bounce of Vockah Redu & The Cru out of New Orleans. Add to this already potent mix Denver's Wheelchair Sports Camp - left field favorites at South by Southwest - as well as performances by Madge of Honor, Miss Nicholle Pride and a host named Yekaterina Petrovna Zamolodchikova, and you have the makings of one seriously unmissable event."
