Ayat al-Kursi is a manifesto of monotheism that describes the essence, attributes, and absolute sovereignty of Allah over the universe in a single verse. In this verse, our Lord informs us: • “Allah, there is no god but Him.” That is, there is only one power that governs, protects, and rules life. Causes are a veil; the true agent is only Him. • “He is the Ever-Living and the Self-Sustaining.” He is the eternally and everlastingly living one. If the universe were to leave His control even for a moment, it would disintegrate. It is His Self-Sustaining power that holds the heavens, the earth, atoms, and hearts together. • “Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him.” That is, Allah never falls into heedlessness. Even if you forget Him or abandon Him, He will not abandon you. • “To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth.” Dominion, life, and sustenance all belong to Him. What we possess is a trust, and we are its custodians. • “Who can intercede except by His permission?” No power can speak against the decree of Allah. Even intercession depends on His permission. • “He knows what is before them and what is behind them.” The past, the future, the visible and the invisible, everything is in His knowledge. He knows your needs even before you ask. • “His Throne encompasses the heavens and the earth.” Allah's sovereignty is limitless. Your fears, worries, and enemies become insignificant within this throne. • “Protecting them does not burden Him.” Your burden is not a burden to Him. The prayers of thousands of His servants do not weary Him. • “He is the Most High, the Most Great.” That is, He is above all things and greater than all things. The servant who reads this verse does not diminish; on the contrary, he finds honor because he relies on Allah. #verse #verseofthethrone
