WHEN ENEMIES DON'T GIVE UP EASILY Since Nehemiah's arrival, Sanballat, Tobiah, and the others didn't want to see Jerusalem rebuilt, so they devised a series of schemes to try to prevent it. a Nehemiah 1:10 They were extremely angry. b Nehemiah 2:19 They despised them. c Nehemiah 4 They joined forces to hinder the work, with threats and mockery. ii Now the work is almost finished, so much so that the enemies heard it, and the headlines would read: "Jerusalem has its walls back. Now only the gates need to be put up." iii If you think the enemy isn't interested in God's work, you're wrong! He is interested in God's work.
