A Decision We Made Early On Was Ruining Our Game | Devlog
When we started developing our indie game, we thought all we had to do was draw a few pixel art tiles in Aseprite and build the map. But we soon realized that one seemingly simple decision was completely affecting the movement, level design, and even the game's sense of precision. In this devlog, we show how we discovered this mistake, why we had to rebuild almost the entire map from scratch in the Godot Engine, and how we tested different scales to find what worked best for the game.
