Even as a child, Bettina Zimmerli sensed everything. The moods of others, unspoken conflicts, even the slightest tensions: "I was like an antenna, picking everything up." For years, she ignored her high sensitivity and adapted. This constant ignoring led to overwhelm, burnout, and bouts of depression. Only when she couldn't take it anymore did she realize: "Being highly sensitive is only a problem if I don't want to be or if society doesn't allow it." She learned to embrace her high sensitivity—and also to set boundaries. Today, Bettina Zimmerli is a coach and supports not only highly sensitive people in finding their true selves: "The first step is to stop and not run away—from your own feelings, from the expectations of others, and from who you really are."
