Maharishi Jaimini was a student of Maharishi Veda Vyasa. Maharishi Veda Vyasa is the son of Maharishi Parasara. So, Rishi Jaimini must have been trained in Vedic Astrology and has given these Upadesa Sutras as a supplement to Parasara’s system of Astrology. The Upadesa Sutras given by Rishi Jaimini were originally consisted of eight chapters & each chapter was divided into four quarters. Among these eight chapters, the texts of the first two chapters are available in complete format. The texts of 3rd & 4th chapters are available in bits & pieces and their authenticity is doubtful. The texts of last four chapters are lost in the passage of time. This video contains the Upadesa Sutras of Maharishi Jaimini contained inside the 3rd quarter of chapter no.1 of classical text Jaimini Sutras. Sri Kumar Saipritam holds the Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Rourkela and is one of the toppers of his batch.
