Shallows. Wind. Fine tackle and big predatory fish! Dozens of big sea bass, brutally attacking us at the very surface! In this series, together with Uncle Mitko, we head to the Ionian Sea in search of the big spring sea bass – fish with huge bellies, which the locals call “mothers”. We catch them on a new model of small needles with shrimp colors, the transparent and fine surface lures dull the vigilance of the cunning fish, while the wind and shallow water turn every attack into a real adrenaline rush. Many fish enter the trap. Some of the biggest ones, however, manage to escape… right in front of the camera. The coastal shallows around Patras are one of the most interesting places for spring sea bass fishing in Greece. In the late spring, big fish turn here, actively hunting in the shallow water when there is wind and current. The result is a series of memorable fish, spectacular strikes and dynamic fishing in the Greek shallows.
