A Day in the Life of a Steam Heat Car Worker | Whitewater Valley Railroad Polar Express
Happy Holidays everyone! This is a sort of holiday special video for all of you and it’s something a little different from my usual content!! I have been working the Polar Express trains on the Whitewater Valley railroad for about 6 years now, but this was my first year working steam heat! I just wanted to take you guys through my day and experiences on the train to get a feel for what I actually do. It’s not glorious work, but I really enjoy it! The steam heat car provides steam to the rest of the train to heat coaches and keep everyone warm on cold days. It does its job quite well and is quite the interesting car to operate. It started life in Canada operating for VIA rail until coming to the Whitewater Valley railroad sometime in the 90s. Thank you for watching! I know I haven’t been posting much lately. I have had a lot going on as of late and haven’t had the time to film many videos. If you like what you see, subscribe for more! I try to post a new video weekly.
