Roman Weller has been building powered aircraft for many decades. As a one-man operation in manual labor! In his workshop in Bibersfeld near Schwäbisch Hall, he has already developed and assembled about 20 different types of aircraft. His best seller is the Rebel. A motorized ultralight aircraft with a length of four meters and room for one person. Roman Weller builds four such planes a year. All are commissioned works for customers who are enthusiastic about the simple construction of the Rebell. He constructs the fuselage from 300 thin steel tubes. The wings are made of aluminum tubes and PVC rigid foam ribs. He covers the fuselage and wings with a polyester fabric. Behind every detail of his planes are endless considerations and experiments: How do I construct the plane to be as stable as possible and yet light? Again and again he comes up with original solutions.
