According to a recent survey among the users of the channel and who chose the next destination by a large majority, we arrived in Belarus, to share with you what happens on the other side of the map. We are leaving Minsk but there is something we do not want to miss. In Belarus, the reality regarding gender ideology and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda is far from what is happening in Western Europe. Gender ideology is a controversial concept and not widely accepted in Belarus. The Belarusian government has taken a conservative stance on issues related to gender identity and the traditional roles of men and women in society. In general, Belarus tends to have a more traditional and conservative vision when it comes to gender roles and we have been able to verify this in its streets, where the family is the protagonist. You will not see here rainbow manifestations, colored hair or dubious clothing. Everything goes according to the established order, it is impossible to find graffiti on the walls, a piece of paper on the floor, or simply something out of place. This society does not have individual freedom as its flag, instead it prefers to support a collective idea. For its part, the 2030 Agenda is a set of sustainable development goals and objectives established by the United Nations. Although Belarus has shown interest in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and has made some efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, the implementation of these goals is contingent on national interests. Much of what has been lost in Spain, in Latin America and in general in most Western countries, enjoys good health in Belarus. This mismatch can explain why in the world today there are two conflicting visions of life that hatch at the borders on both sides of the map. Although several Eastern countries such as Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Hungary are clear about what values to preserve, coming to Minsk means going one step further. Time will tell which position prevails. Europe is torn between being and letting itself be. The streets of Minsk transported us to another time and yet we feel in the present. Sometimes the past is usually a form of the future. Minsk is a city worth knowing, quite economical and safe, with the leisurely walk of its passers-by and a cleanliness that makes any European capital envy. Traveling is hyper-living and we will continue touring this side of the map to share it with you.
