The New Barbarians + The Rolling Stones live at Oshawa [22-4-1979] - Full Shows
Hello again, friend of a friend, how have you been!? It's been 3 months, right? Well, fuck it, I'm here so let's upload! I see this upload as very appropriate for my return since it's been downloaded on my computer for ever now plus it was a very special show for MANY reasons! Let me tell you a little tale of a man and his drug addiction: Keef Richards. After so many trials I can't even count, in 1977, in Toronto, heroin was found, again, at Keef's possession; After two years the prosecution had filed an appeal of the sentence but he still had to play some benefit concerts to pay off the debt and ladies and gentlemen, this is one of them! Now let me tell you yet another story! Of a frustrated man and his LP: Ron Wood. He had just released another album in '79 and had to promote it somehow; Since the Stones had finished the '78 tour he thought about picking up some musicians and forming a band to promote it, and so he did. By calling his buddy Keef the scheduled shows, supporting the Stones, the new band called New Barbarians (Featuring the amazing Stanley Clarke on bass, Ian McLagan on Keys and Joseph Zigaboo Modeliste on drums, plus, touring member of the Stones Bobby Keys on sax) was on a mission to both promote his album and pay off Keith's debt to Canada. Their setlist included songs from the album (Which I don't actually know, so I won't even comment) with Woody on vocals (Decent) and a final performance with Keith on vocals singing Before they Make Me Run (Quite awful, though) Now, moving on, since they were supporting the Stones, to their show, the one that I really care about (Sorry Woody :P)! The setlist was quite different since it was an unusual occasion; They started off with Prodigal Son then moving on to the usual Let It Rock; Mick's voice sounds fantastic and the band is also on fire with great performances of Beast Of Burden and Jumpin' Jack Flash. Enjoy this gem! Setlist: Barbarians - Intro; 3:30 Sweet Little Rock 'n' Roller; 7:34 F.U.C. Her; 12:00 Breathe On Me; 21:29 Infekshun; 25:37 I Can Feel the Fire; 32:12 Am I Grooving You; 40:17 Seven Days; 44:55 Before they Make Me Run Stones - 48:17 Prodigal Son; 51:19 Let It Rock; 54:14 Respectable (Some confusion by the band is heard); 57:18 Star Star; 1:02:39 Beast Of Burden; 1:09:11 Imagination; 1:16:06 When the Whip Comes Down; 1:20:59 Shattered; 1:25:25 Miss You; 1:34:44 Jumpin' Jack Flash
