Rav Chaim Yisrael Abadi zt"l (1960 to 2026) was the founder of Minyan Shelanu in Lakewood, NJ, a pioneering program providing a non-judgmental, supportive home for at-risk teens and young adults from yeshiva backgrounds. He also established The Chill, a parallel program for girls. Through warmth, unconditional love, and tireless dedication, he helped countless young people return to productive, Torah-observant lives. He was widely known throughout Lakewood and beyond for the words, "When all else fails, call Chaim Abadi." Rav Chaim was the son of the renowned posek Rav Yitzchak Abadi zt"l. He was niftar in May 2026 at the age of 66. The hespedim were delivered at Minyan Shelanu in Lakewood, NJ, with kevura in Beit Shemesh, Eretz Yisrael.
