To make a milkshake: 1) Chill your serving and mixing glasses in the freezer. I use a 1-quart mason jar as my mixing glass and an 8 oz cocktail glass as my serving glass. 2) For a single serving, put two big scoops of ice cream in your mixing glass (I use sweet cream ice cream so that I can control all the other flavors). Splash in about 1/4 cup (60mL) cold milk (I use evaporated milk), a spoonful of a liquid sweetener (simple syrup, flavored syrup, fruit preserve, honey, etc), and any other flavorings you want (vanilla, some berries, etc). 3) Use an immersion blender to whiz everything up smooth. Taste and add more of anything you think it needs. Transfer to your cold serving glass, top with whipped cream, etc.
