We didn't just day trip there - we stayed there. Our tour guide in central Venice highly recommended touring Massimiliano Schiavon Art Team's factory on Murano. The art of blowing glass in their workshops is incredible. We thought it would be really touristy, but it wasn't at all (at least not the one we went to!). These glass artists are true craft workers! We also visit the main cathedral on Murano - the one with the long name (Basilica of Saint Mary and Saint Donatus). We have it all to ourselves! The mosaic tile floors here are amazing!
