Cristiano Leone: conversation with Alice Schivardi

Every work of art preserves part of its own origin. Another part remains beyond our reach. It is this distance that makes inquiry possible. Every genuine creative process retains a core that resists definitive interpretation and continues to generate new possibilities of meaning. My conversation with Alice Schivardi grew out of this conviction. The questions sought to approach the moment when an intuition becomes a responsibility. This enquiry also lies at the heart of Nuovo Volo, the project we are developing together. Every work comes into being through a relationship: with a place, with those who inhabit it, with the living world, and with that spiritual dimension which continues to shape artistic experience even when it remains unseen. The origin of a work also belongs to this web of relationships, which continues to act long after the work itself has taken form. This is the first of a series of short excerpts from our conversation. I will be sharing further moments over the coming days.
