Finding the last survivor of the 1959 Winter Dance Party tour - Dion live at The Keswick!

In this video, I take a high-stakes, whirlwind day trip from Center City Philadelphia out to the historic Keswick Village in Glenside, PA. My ultimate mission? To see the legendary Dion DiMucci live in concert and hopefully track down an in-person autograph from one of the true, founding fathers of Rock & Roll. Dion is the last surviving headliner from the tragic 1959 Winter Dance Party tour (alongside Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper), and at nearly 87 years old, his voice and stage presence are absolutely mind-blowing. Along the way, I explore the beautiful English Tudor-style architecture of Keswick Village, grab an old-fashioned Italian specialty sandwich at PrimoHoagies, and dive into the incredible history of the 1928 Keswick Theatre. Fun fact: The Keswick was designed by Horace Trumbauer—the exact same architect behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art's famous "Rocky Steps"! Things looked grim when Dion skipped soundcheck and rushed straight past the crowd before the show. Did the security team clear the way after the final curtain, or did I leave for the airport just hours later empty-handed? Watch to find out And if you like Rock history and music history be sure to check out the next video for footage of Dion performing at this historic venue in small town Pennsylvania.
