The Holy Rosary: Glorious Mysteries – Sunday, July 5, 2026 | Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today we pray the Holy Rosary with the Glorious Mysteries for the Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time. In the First Reading, the prophet Zechariah announces the arrival of a king who comes not in conquest but in humility — riding on a donkey, proclaiming peace to the nations, with a dominion that reaches the ends of the earth (Zechariah 9:9–10). In the Second Reading, Paul reminds the Romans that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in them — they are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, and that Spirit is life (Romans 8:9, 11–13). In the Gospel, Jesus extends one of the most tender invitations ever spoken: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:25–30). The Glorious Mysteries — the Resurrection, the Ascension, Pentecost, the Assumption, and the Coronation of Mary — are the fruit of everything Christ endured, offered now to every weary soul willing to receive them. Today's Gospel speaks to those who are tired in ways that sleep cannot fix — spiritually depleted, emotionally overwhelmed, carrying weight they were never meant to carry alone. Jesus does not say perform more, try harder, or earn your rest. He says come. As we contemplate his glory today, we ask for the grace to lay our burdens down and take up the yoke that is easy — the one he carries with us.
