We the Dimasa people love our Judima. It is the ultimate celebration drink for us. We drink this traditional rice beer in happiness and in sorrow; during birth and death. It brings people together and is a major asset of the Dimasa community. You may or may not consider this a 'How to make rice beer at home' tutorial video, but I really wanted to make Judima and capture the whole process. We have skipped a few processes in this video because of the lack of time, but I hope you enjoy the video anyway. The feeling of drinking homemade rice beer is beyond the feeling any other alcoholic beverage gives. Dimasa is a tribal community thriving in the Northeast of India, mainly in the Dima Hasao and Cachar Districts of Assam and few parts of Nagaland. This video was shot at Haflong, Assam.
