ældste trykte danmarkshistorie fra 1514 – kun 2 eksemplarer findes | Kongens Håndbibliotek (afs. 3)
Join us as the King’s librarian climbs the ladder to retrieve the oldest books in the collection. Among them is the oldest printed history of Denmark ever known. It was written around the year 1200 by Saxo Grammaticus, who worked for Absalon. This is an important work on Denmark’s history, covering everything from the earliest legendary kings up to Saxo’s own time. The rare book was first printed in 1514 in Paris and exists in only two copies. One of them is brought out here by Mikael Bøgh Rasmussen from the Royal Danish Collection at the King’s Reference Library.
