DR ABDUL QADEER (Founder, Shaheen Group of Institutions)

www.shaheengroup.org Dr. Abdul Qadeer is an educationist, a philanthropist and an activist who serves as a source of inspiration for young generation. He immeasurably contributed to the educational development of Bidar District through Shaheen School. Dr. Abdul Qadeer started his career as an Engineer at Japanese Marobani Corporation and then moved to Saudi Arabia to continue his professional career, but in 1989 he decided to return to lndia. He established Shaheen Group of Institutions at Bidar in the year 1989 to educate the poor and marginalized mass of Bidar District. He started it as a visionary endeavor in a one room tenement accommodating 18 students has now evolved into a major center of academic excellence touching the lives of more than 16000 students and 500 teachers engaged in creation of knowledge from KG to XII. He is an educationist par excellence and has adopted pioneering idea of providing education in mother tongue. Since 2014, Shaheen has attained 1000 plus free Government medical seats. 327 free Government Medical seats (NEET) are bagged by the Students of Shaheen in the year 2019. In 2018, 304 free Government medical seats are obtained by the students of Shaheen, 21 seats of prestigious Bangalore Medical College (BMC) were bagged by Shaheen; 68 seats of Govt. Medical College, Bidar and 31 seats of Government Medical College, Gulbarga were acquired by the students of Shaheen. Now Shaheen is one of the top 5 institutes in Karnataka, which is known for offering excellent education to those students who aspire to become a doctor. Academic Intensive Care Unit for Drop outs and Madrasa Students Dr. Abdul Qadeer started a pilot project ‘Academic Intensive Care Unit (AICU)’aimed to bring the drop-outs and Madrasa students to mainstream has bore fruits. The project started in 2003 was aimed to help the school dropouts and Madrasa Students of age group 10-18 are made to appear Class 10th, 12th examination along with NEET and other professional examinations. AICU has a composite curriculum from class 5th to 12th. Nearly 500 dropouts and Madrasa students are admitted annually in AICU. Alumni of Shaheen AICU are now pursuing education in esteemed institutions like Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University. The success story of AICU project is tremendous. Parent seeking a blend of temporal and religious education is another part that the Shaheen has knocked successfully. Shaheen’s ingenious and unique Hifz and integrated study of modern subjects enabling the Huffaz to go for professional course has ushered a new era for the people of North Karnataka. Shaheen Value School ( Class 1 to 10th Std) 3. Shaheen Junior College (Senior Secondary Integrated with NEET+ Competitive Exam Crash Course) 4. Academic Intensive Care Unit (AICU) (40-60 days course for Drop-outs and Madrasa Pass-outs) 5. Shaheen Women’s Degree College (Alima Course for girls along with three year graduation course) 6. Hifzul Quran+ Course leading to Professional education for students who had completed Hifz 7. Shaheen Teachers Training Academy (Vocational Teachers Training Center certified by SEF India) 8. Shaheen Alim Plus (Senior Secondary School Programme for Madrasa Graduates integrated with CLAT – Law Entrance Examination) 9. Shaheen Distance Learning Programme for class XI – XII students. He has taken many initiatives to spread communal harmony throughout the State. It is very gratifying to note that Dr. Qadeer’s contribution to the social and educational well being as the founder of Shaheen Group of Institutions has not gone unnoticed. He has been overtly appreciated with awards and honors under the patronage of Government authorities and many non-government organizations.
