Determination of the Refractive Index of a Rectangular Glass Prism Using the Graphical Method
This experiment aims to determine the refractive index of a rectangular glass prism using a graphical method. The outline of the prism is drawn on a sheet of paper, and the normal is constructed at the point of incidence. The incident and refracted rays are drawn. A circle of convenient radius is drawn with its center at the point of incidence, intersecting both the incident and refracted rays. Perpendicular lines are then drawn from these points of intersection to meet the prism outline. The distances from the normal to these perpendicular lines along the prism outline are measured. A graph of the perpendicular distance from the incident ray against the perpendicular distance from the refracted ray is plotted. The slope of the graph, is used to determine the refractive index of the glass prism. #PhysicsPractical#Refraction#RefractiveIndex#GlassPrism#PhysicsExperiment#HighSchoolPhysics#WASSCEPhysics#STEMEducation#ScienceExperiment#GraphicalMethod#EducationalVideo#HandsOnLearning#TeachScience#GraphingSkills#PhysicsGraph#ScienceGraph#YouTubeLearning#EduContentCreator#ScienceYouTube#PhysicsChannel
