Prince Andrew's “Hot and Sweaty” Adrenaline Rush in Falklands War - Uncut Interview (2002)
On 14 June 2002, the twentieth anniversary of the end of the Falklands War, Prince Andrew, Duke of York spoke to ITN’s Tom Bradby about his experience of the conflict. The Prince served as a Royal Navy Sub Lieutenant with 820 Naval Air Squadron (NAS) embarked in HMS Invincible. In a 50-minute interview, the Duke of York shared memories of the war including the moment he found out his unit was to be deployed to the South Atlantic, saying goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II, and the delirium and exhaustion of daily life during the campaign. He also described the combat experience that caused him to receive "a lifetime's worth of adrenaline", sending his body into an intense hot flush and turning a patch of his hair white. In his 2019 Newsnight interview on his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew cited this "overdose of adrenaline" as the basis for his claim that he was unable to sweat at the time of his alleged sexual encounter with Virginia Giuffre. On 19 February 2024, UK Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron visited the Falklands Islands as part of diplomatic effort to demonstrate they are a "valued part of the British family" amid renewed Argentinian calls for talks on their future. #Falklands #PrinceAndrew #DukeOfYork #FalklandsWar #Arentina #Newsnight #JeffreyEpstein To license the footage featured in this clip, follow the link below: https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/videos/...
