Exploring the Factors that Impact the Career Paths for Men Entering the Nursing Profession

The GW Nursing Office of Research was joined by Dr. Billy Mullins to discuss his SON intramural grant funded research. There is a dearth of information regarding the factors that impact the career paths for men entering the nursing profession; thus, the purpose of this study was to gather first-person narratives from men regarding their choice of specialty upon graduation from nursing school to inform strategies to attract and retain male nurses in various specialties as well as ensure that the nursing profession remains inclusive and responsive to the needs of all its members.
