Throughout my career as a freelance programmer, I've always used the Windows operating system for my applications and development, while for servers, I've always used Linux. I experimented with Solaris for a while, but I confess I didn't quite adapt. However, the question always remained: is the MacOS environment really all it's cracked up to be in terms of performance? I purchased a more basic Macbook to test out its performance, and I must say I was incredibly surprised by the processing power the M1 chip provides—and yes, a Macbook for programming is a GREAT MACHINE. Having a Macbook for programming isn't even a matter of status (although it does have a positive impact on clients; after all, they'll see your concern for the quality of your equipment, and that's already a positive factor in your favor), but rather, it's about the quality of your results. I used a trick I explain in the video to further optimize my MacBook, and the computer became a blast! Seriously, I'm not a fanboy of any brand, but the performance of this MacBook for programming was lightyears beyond my expectations. The trick I used to improve the notebook's performance was to increase the storage and swapping capacity using an external SSD.
