Cantiga (Alphonso X, 13th Century)- Arr. by Jessica Comeau (Medieval Dance Music / Hymns / Acoustic)
For more of my songs on YouTube, please visit and subscribe to my channel: / jessicacomeaudulcimer This piece is one of the "Cantigas de Santa Maria" (Cantiga #1: Des oge mais quér' éu trobar) collected by King Alphonso X, El Sabio in the 13th century, a sequence of songs dedicated to Mary, the Mother of God. Many of these cantigas had a rather lively character, so I suppose they could be played as dances, too! This cantiga especially features the drone on the mountain dulcimer... (C-G-C tuning, Capo 1- D minor) Arrangements of this song also appear in my book and DVD set "Mountain Dulcimer Wildflowers,” in my digital book “Cantigas de Santa Maria,” and on my album, “Songs of the Earthly Pilgrimage”: https://www.jessicacomeaudulcimer.com... www.JessicaComeauDulcimer.com Facebook: www.facebook.com/JessicaComeauDulcimer YouTube Channel: / jessicacomeaudulcimer
