Respect and honor to our Veterans

Today, we pay respect and honor to all Black African American military personnel. Veterans Day began as "Armistice Day" on November 11, 1919, commemorating the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and it became a national holiday in 1938. After World War II and the Korean War, the focus shifted to honor all veterans, leading Congress to change the name to Veterans Day in 1954. Although temporarily moved to the fourth Monday in October in 1968, Veterans Day returned to its original date of November 11 in 1978 to preserve its historical significance.
