Guided Somatic Exercise: Turning Towards That Urge to Push Past Red Flags

I recently had an experience that felt electrifyingly go-go-good… and stomach-slushingly off at the same time. Have you experienced something like that? A whirlwind rush of excitement mixed in with a sinking, woozy feeling of this doesn’t feel right. It’s a hard combo to contain! For many of us, the urge to push past red flags can often arise when we feel that we are finally feeling seen, heard and understood. That desire to feel connected to is so incredibly and understandably strong. If what I’m sharing resonates with you, then you might find this guided exercise helpful. In it, I offer support when you find yourself wanting to push past red flags. Spoiler alert: there’s often a very good reason why something wants you to ignore those red flags or push them out of sight. So, this process isn’t about judging, shaming or criticizing this part. It’s about understanding its reasons for doing what it’s doing. I’m thinking about creating a course that explores this more deeply, so if you find this exercise helpful and would want more, I’d love to hear from you! 💚 You can find this week's newsletter "When There's an Urge to Ignore Red Flags" by visiting: https://www.livingfully.org/newsletters keywords: trauma-informed, guided somatic exercise, feel better naturally, emotional relief, body-based exercise for emotions, notice your feelings, honoring red flags, emotional regulation, inner listening, gentle somatic practice, self-connection exercise, focusing, inner relationship focusing, somatic experiencing
