(Deosai Adventure) Motorcycle Ride to Skardu Featuring Sheosar Lake - Travel With Nabeel

Embark on an epic motorcycle adventure as we travel from Chilam Chowki to Skardu via the legendary Deosai Plains. Our journey begins after 2 PM in the last days of August, following an exciting morning exploring Minimarg and Domail. We pay the 300 PKR per person fee to enter the majestic Deosai National Park, renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich history. Deosai, known as the "Land of Giants," is one of the highest plateaus in the world, standing at an elevation of around 4,114 meters (13,497 feet) above sea level. This remarkable region spans over 3,000 square kilometers and is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including the Himalayan brown bear. The park's name, Deosai, is derived from the words "Deo" (giant) and "Sai" (shadow), reflecting the vast and mysterious nature of this high-altitude plateau. Our first stop is the mesmerizing Sheosar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world, sitting at an elevation of approximately 4,142 meters (13,589 feet). The name Sheosar translates to "Blind Lake" in the local language, and this tranquil body of water is famed for its crystal-clear reflections of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. The serenity and beauty of Sheosar Lake leave us in awe as we take in the breathtaking scenery. Continuing our journey, we pass by the scenic Bara Pani and Chota Pani, two picturesque rivers that enhance the natural beauty of Deosai. The vast expanse of the Deosai Plains unfolds before us, offering an unforgettable landscape that stretches as far as the eye can see. Despite the fading daylight, we push forward, experiencing the thrill of riding through Deosai for almost two hours in the night. The moonlight casts a magical glow over the plains, making our journey even more memorable. Our adventure concludes as we reach Skardu around 8 o'clock, filled with a sense of accomplishment and wonder. This incredible journey through one of the most stunning regions of Pakistan on two wheels is a testament to the beauty and allure of the Deosai Plains.
