WEST TEXAS - Firefighter radio recording the moment the West Fertilizer Company plant exploded. County dispatch advises their traffic is unreadable, and they're not able to get their response Received, we're in Elm Mott, we just saw an explosion on the horizon. We need every ambulance we can get this way, a bomb just went off inside here, it's pretty bad, we got a lot of firemen down. We need somebody here now, we had a bomb go off here. Enroute to you. Go ahead. I've got West Fire out on a fire at the West Fertilizer Plant, they just advised that something exploded there and they have firefighters down, can I send anybody to assist? We do have EMS enroute. 10-4 (unrelated) Yes mam, do you need us for us to respond up there? We do have a ladder truck, but I just heard something about an explosion up there now. One of the buildings that is destroyed is right down the street from it, I'll get you as many addresses that I can, but just give me a second I'm trying to get more people enroute to them. Roberts and Jerry Mashek, its a huge plant out there, so I think it covers several blocks, if you go to that intersection you will see West PD and West Fire units. 10-4, we'll have units enroute.
