⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Front Window View: NYC Subway - R32 Trains in the Rockaways!

Take a front window ride on the NYC Subway's iconic R32 trains, back when they were still in service in 2019! You asked, and we delivered! Many of you have been requesting that we remaster some of our older Front Window footage using the newest, cutting-edge video processing techniques that we have been using in 2025. Additionally, many of you mentioned that you view these videos on TVs, and would prefer longer videos that can be kept on the screen for long periods of time. This video combines all of our R32 Rockaway "Shuttle Train" front window footage into one long compendium, including rare clips of trains operating over the F5 'Flyover' track, as well as track F3 at Howard Beach-JFK Airport! 🚇 About the Train: This video was filmed from the passenger-accessible front window of an R32-type train, back when these cars were still running in regularly-scheduled passenger service. The R32 cars, built in 1964 by the Budd Company, were the first mass-produced stainless steel subway cars built for the NYC Subway, and were retired in 2022. They feature a classic operator's cab design, where the compartment occupies only the right third of the car, leaving a central front window open to passengers. From this spot, riders on the train can enjoy an unobstructed view of the tracks ahead, something modern subway cars do not provide. Today’s New York City Subway rolling stock features full-width cabs only, which makes front window views like this virtually impossible on regular service trains, except in extreme edge-case exceptions. That makes this ride not just a trip across the city but also a rare look back at how millions of New Yorkers once experienced their daily commute. 🔒 All footage in this video was recorded with permission.
