Seed Savers of Kenya | The Farmers Protecting Kenya’s Indigenous Seeds
Seed saving is a key aspect of agriculture. If farmers rely on seeds coming from the commercial seed system, we risk losing our agricultural biodiversity. For centuries, Africans have farmed pulses, vegetables and tubers to nourish their families and communities by utilising indigenous knowledge systems. But as climate impacts escalate and farming seasons are disrupted, Africa's food security is threatened. In this documentary, Power Shift Africa examines how seed preservation through traditional knowledge can create long-term agricultural resilience and promote food security.
